- OUR STATEMENT OF FAITH -
The one and only basis of our belief is the inspired and infallible Word of God (II Timothy 3:16-17), without error; having final authority in all matters. Accordingly, we believe:
There is one God, existing eternally and equally in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – each possessing all attributes of the Deity, carrying out unique purposes in complete accord (John 14:9-28)
God the Father created all things and sustains all things. He created human beings to have fellowship with Him. As a result of man’s defiance, sin entered the world and eternally separated man from God, creating a need for God’s grace through the person of Jesus Christ (Romans 1:20).
Jesus Christ is God’s own Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of a virgin. He lived a sinless life on earth and voluntarily gave his life as atonement for sin, once, and for all who receive His grace by trusting in Him alone. He was put to death by our sin, rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God, and will return to earth to fulfill the prophecy of God’s Word (1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 1 Peter 3:18-22; Matthew 24:29-31, 42-44).
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth (John 14:17), the Counselor sent from God after the ascension of Christ (Acts 1:4-9). The Holy Spirit is received when a person accepts Christ as personal Savior (Acts 2:38). Through the received Holy Spirit, we are equipped to live righteously, receive truth and instruction, and recognize and repent of sin. We are commissioned to continue in the works of the New Testament church (Mark 16:15-16) as we strive to live the example of Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 3:14-19).
Salvation is only received by accepting the free gift of God’s grace, without merit to human effort. To be saved from sin, a person must repent of sinfulness and confess faith in Jesus Christ alone (John 14:6; Romans 6:23; 1 John 5:11-13)
